Baritone Players: Flat Pickers?

Ok, this may be an obvious question but I'm a barry newbie. Does anybody out there flatpick their barry using traditional DGBE tuning? I mean, can it even be done without those two extra bass strings? For guitar players, I'm talking about adapting the Carter method of solo melody in the bass with treble chord strums.

Well, to the extent that I am a Professor Of The Barry, I'd say I don't know. Try it, and see how it comes out. Myself, I am a lousy flatpicker, and prefer fingerstyle playing.

I'm not flat picking but I'm doing something similar to Travis picking on a ukulele. The thumb alternates between the 3rd and 4th string and my middle and ring fingers pick strings 2 and 1.

You could certainly adapt flat picking to the ukulele although the range will be limited.
