What is a "long neck" ukulele? Is it a 17 inch tenor scale on a concert or soprano?

What would be the difference between any other 17 inch tenor ukulele? I guess just the type of sound (i.e., warmer or brighter)? Is a long neck 17" scale easier to play?

A long neck ukulele has the body size of a particular ukulele with the scale length of a larger ukulele. You've figured that already. I'm not really sure how they sound. I played a Kala ukulele once with a concert neck on a soprano body and it sounded sweet.

Yup, Anthony pretty much said it. I have a long neck soprano and some have what seems to be a "fuller sound" due to the longer scale length. Lots of folks find the soprano scale a little small and prefer the larger one. There are sopranos with both concert and tenor scale necks on them. It enables someone who prefers the larger scale neck, but wants the sound of a smaller body. My son has a tenor neck concert Mainland pineapple as he prefers a tenor scale and it is a sweety.
