I have a personal reason for wanting a uke with Riptide on it. As long as it sounds as good as my Kala ka b I'm going for it. I'm talking about the mahogany laminate. Anybody have one?

My brother has one...
...he got it really cheap from amazon. I switched it to GCEA strings and it sounds very good. It came nicely set up too right out of the box.

I noticed the lastest batch of them look more attractive...
...they removed the ugly decal from the body and now the headstock says "Riptide"

I have the electric mahogany - the EUB-5NS - and I couldn't be happier with it.

Awesome look, great tone, great price. Was good out of the box, but great after tweaking.
Love it so much that when I graduate to gigging on uke, I will buy a second of the same one.

Have you also played the spruce-rosewood version? I'm interested in talking to someone who can comment on both.
