Hi All

I re-posted this video on 'Ukulele Poets' about a week or so ago. It's called 'Cannonball' by Kendall Parker.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g4gPxtUTPgI

I was a little bemused to discover that it had only been seen by just over 900 people. It's been seen by a few more by now but not that many more.

I think it's great. Nice uke-age and a lovely song performed in a creative and fun way.

I, for one, am a fan. Hopefully the ukulele underground can get the view rate up!

Oops! Kendall Patrick

It might make a difference if I got her name right, myself...

I think she's awesome. I think her time is coming quickly as she get's heard. Needs to perform at some big venues if she can. I'd certainly enjoy listening to her, and I'm an old grandpa.

There's just to many good performers and I think the people on UU really get excited for someone when the artists play more solo style of ukulele. Of course, there are a few exceptions like Eddie Vedder but he does a few tricks besides just strumming and he is freakin Eddie Vedder!!

This is how people find out :). This kind of online word-of-mouth is how artists get found these days, from Julia Nunes to Walk Off The Earth to Katzenjammer to that little Canadian boy, Justin Whatisisname.

Great video and what a voice! Thanks for the link!

Good voice but I kept watching to see what was going on in the background

It's definitely the case that the online community and UU are helping spread the word about talented individuals at an early stage of their development.

I saw the Keston Cobblers' Club for the first time last night and their beautiful 'For, Words' Burberry Acoustic clip, as a result of the Ukulele Hunt uke video of the year contest that's running at the moment.

One thing I've gained from doing 'Ukulele Poets' over the last year is a glimpse of just how much talent (young, old and everywhere in between) there is out there, all of which won't be harmed by encouragement and support. It's definitely opened up my horizons to new performers and new songs.

More importantly, I just like the way the uke community are so upbeat and encouraging of each other.

Did you know that Cannonball was inspired by her boyfriend who grew up in Burlington!

Thanks for the link, never heard of her, but she's excellent and I look forward to more music from her.

In the video? Of course it is, that's how music videos are made.

My name is Ciro DiRuocco (originally from Burlington, VT) I loved reading your all your comments today.. I even got a laugh from the lip synch one!

I am the Manager/ boyfriend of Kendall Patrick and the Headless Bettys.. I would really appreciate the Uke community's feedback on the Cannonball demo version in contrast to the youtube video!
