The Ukulele Picnic was just held on Oahu and many visiting foreigners from out of the USA so Kalei Gamiao invited a bunch for a simple Hawaiian cookout and Kanikapila....He lives on a historically preserved plantation village where all the old houses must remain. Sincere thanks to Kalei and his family for a great time. The grounds were simply wonderful...real old style Hawaiian and I was amazed to see in the middle of the large lawn a special built stage and covered parrty area.....heres some pics
You can see most of the property in this shot of the great cook manning the grill

Very cool.

Historical preservation really does it right when it's kept simple.

Cool, looks like lots of fun - kind of like a big ol' Texas backyard BBQ minus the sand and cow pies and fire ants!

Looks like a fireman's BBQ. Call me next time.

Kalei Gamiao is Awesome!!!...

I'd like to see him in concert one day!...

Da place kinda reminds me of da plantation homes up in Kawailoa village and Whitmore Village in Wahiawa . . .
