If you're in Ventura County or are Ventura County adjacent, please consider dropping by the Brimhall Library in Thousand Oaks this Saturday, Feb. 23, at 2 p.m. I'll be talking about 'ukulele myths, based on John King's and my new book, The 'Ukulele: A History, and Tom Kunznkowski will be leading the kanikapila that follows. I'll have some copies of the book to sell, and will be happy to sign any copies you bring by.

Oh no, miss it by one day. I will be in LA all day Friday but fly out Sat. morning. Too bad, would have loved to come. Loved your book though.

Jim, will you be in LA area sometime in the near future for book signing?

It was a pleasure to meet Jim Tranquada at his talk this afternoon. There was a standing-room-only turnout for his entertaining and informative presentation. If you are interested in the history of the 'ukulele, you need this book!

I just finished reading Jim's book. It's a "must read" if you have any interest the history of the ukulele.
