This song is from the same album as "Baker Street". I've never been able to find the chords for it on-line, so I finally sat down on Sunday and worked them out myself.

Code:
C# F# C# F#6/9 (3344)
G# B F# C# A G D G D
G# B F# C# A G D G D C#

C#
This silver bird takes me ‘cross the sky
Just one more hour and I'll be home and dry
A F# C#
‘Cross the ocean, way above the clouds I come stealin'

C#
Feelin' tired, but I feel good
Cause I did everything I said I would
A F# C#
I think of you, and I know how you'll be feelin'

G# B F# C#
I gotta see you, I gotta be with you
A G D G D
We'll make it better now in every way
G# B F# C#
It's gotta be you, it's gotta be you
A G D G D
Yes from now on I'll tell you every day

Way up here above this timeless sea
I realize just what it is you mean to me
You give me somethin' when I thought that everything we had was dyin'

I need a reason just to make me carry on
Well I know better now, I know where I belong
I can't imagine how I ever let myself just give up tryin'

I gotta see you, I gotta be with you
We'll make it better now in every way
It's gotta be you, it's gotta be you
Yes from now on I'll tell you every day

Oooooh, yes I'm home and dry

Ain't nothin' up here gonna slow me down
You know I never ever take the long way ‘round
I think of you, cause I know how you'll be feelin'

This silver bird takes me ‘cross the sky
Just one more hour and I'll be home and dry
‘Cross the ocean, way above the clouds I come stealin'

I gotta see you, I gotta be with you
We'll make it better now in every way
It's gotta be you, it's gotta be you
Yes from now on I'll tell you every day

Oooooh, yes I'm home and dry

Agree, Uke4ia. I, too, have looked online to no avail re: tabs for this absolutely amazing song. Despite the commercial success of Baker Street and Right Down The Line, I'm sure you'd agree with me: Home and Dry is the true centerpiece of the iconic City to City LP.

Thanks for tabbing it out brother uke4ia!

I can't knock Baker Street, I've been playing that for about five years now. But Home and Dry probably has the most interesting chord pattern of the three songs. It WAS a hit at the time, so I'm surprised no one had posted chords for it.

Agree. Maybe you should post it on an online source...like chordie. Just cut and past. Then anyone can find it by search.

I like your subtle tribute to Gerry Rafferty with the red sweater to blue shirt change at 0:15 secs. Nice!
