Santana was in concert in Honolulu last night. According to Brittni's FB, she was on the VIP list and to top it off, was asked to perform with him. For Brittni, I would imagine it was a performance of a lifetime. Hopefully the vids will be posted soon.

Oh, good for Brittany! She's such a nice gal. Took a workshop class with her once and she has a great way of teaching theory that makes it easy.

looking at this, it floors me to see how she has developed as a musician over a very short period of time...

so now that she has her custom signature uke, what happened to her jake model? Or did kamaka take her jake uke and attach a new neck with her name inlayed? she'd have one heck of a collection if she had both 0.0

Andrew, that mic is amazing!! I must have scene many versions of this song and this one sounds the best in my opinion. I assume you are shooting most of your video with a L lens as the DOF is really nice.

I saw one at the Koaloha Factory but I assume she has more than one...I could be wrong

She sold one of her Koalohas on eBay six months ago. It was her premiere Koaloha custom.
http://www.ukuleleunderground.com/forum/showthread.php?68801-Brittni-s-KoALoha-for-sale&highlight=brittni+koaloha

She sure is sweet on that four string. She plucks that low G so deftly, so subtlety, that it actually sounds good. She basically plays strings 1-3, and uses the 4th string low G as a faint bass line. Very deft.

Excellent footage from the epicenter of all things ukulele, HMS.

Anyone sub Hi*Sessions video (featuring Ohta, Jr., Kalei, James Hill, et al) from Dave and Jon?
http://www.youtube.com/user/hisessionsshow

They will be having Taimane in the near future for a multi-song set. yes!

Ya, L lenses. DOF was too much at times I thought, always learning and growing with it. I did a blog post just now with another recording with her yesterday. Sorry, but It will only play at theUkuleleReview (http://theukulelereview.com/2013/03/01/brittni-paiva-ukulele-goddess/) -

I've watched all of Brit's videos, plus her DVD, and I have to say that her skills have really gone completely out of the stratosphere. She's always been exceptional, even as a teen. But this video is an example of her mastery of dynamic tone-- the subtle changes in volume, emphasizing certain notes and phrases-- that is just so darn hard to "get" for the rest if us.

It's like Andrew dialing in the depth of field perfectly, but the rest of us just having a grainy background. Lol

No, Brittni is maturing as a musician. Even songs like Europa, one of her staples, seems richer now. I'm blown away.

Brittni is fantastic!

I am a big Brittni fan...her playing is beautiful! I had the great pleasure of having a lesson with Brittni last year in Hilo. It was in her house arranged by her manager/ mother...very easy to do. The lesson was great ...I am an intermediate player...almost. I walked away with great memories and some hand crafted tabs for songs appropriate for me.

She is Soooooooo nice! A great ambassador of the Aloha spirit.

When I go to me ipad Hawaian music.. brittni ends being me choice ever time.

She created her initial albums herself...including other tracks...I think they are among her best...she is soooo talente!

Aloha,
Terry

What a hard tone to stand your ground with! It would be tough with an electric guitar, let alone a too-quiet ʻukulele. Brittni did a great job. Sheʻs stoked for the rest of the year.

I'm just discovering Brittni's beautiful playing.

I Love the tone on that Lights video. I'm sure most of it is in her hands, but -
does anyone know what she uses in the signal chain. I know there is a Boss looper in that video,
but what else does she use to get that beautiful tone? Anyone?
