It's funny, I like bling, and this is the plainest looking uke. The wood is not highly figured, the satin finish makes it very under-stated. What sold me on it was the sound on the video (nice playing, Drose) especially that ringing final note.
It sounds so good, even with me playing. I knew that good instruments are a world apart from entry level ones, that a well made uke would sound good. I honestly didn't realise what a difference it could make to the playing of a newbie like me.
I can never go back to lower instruments - except perhaps a novelty soprano pineapple for silliness.
