this is a stunning and wonderful sounding baritone, hand built by Jim Williams c.2010
he is a renowned Australian classical guitar maker whose instruments sell in the thousands of dollars. he has not built many ukes, and in fact, has ceased building completely now due to health issues
specs
curly tasmanian blackwood back and sides
western red cedar top
cream celluloid top body binding
rosewood fretboard, bridge and headplate
queensland maple neck
maple & rosewood rosette
open geared tuners w/black buttons
bone nut and saddle
18 frets
southcoast heavy gauge strings
incredibly low action and ease of playability, warm and beautifully balanced tone, a high class uke. cedar has very very tight grain. uke has great projection, volume and sustain and is gorgeous to look at also
one issue: has a 1.5cm hairline crack on the right hand lower bout. stable, easily fixed and doesn't affect tone or playability. otherwise the uke is without blemish
