Just purchased an old Mauna Loa Banjoukulele and was hoping someone might know a little about it.
The head is very loose and I think I will have to replace it but it has a very unusual head tensioning system. It seems to just be jammed between a metal internal ring and the wooden rim of the body.
I'm not sure what is to stop you simply tensioning it right out the front as there appears to be nothing to stop it.
It has a metal (steel) resonator.
Any help or info will be much appreciated.
