Hi everyone,
I've been a pro musician/teacher for more years than I care to remember. Play guitar, piano, Chapman Stick and, of course, ukulele. I've owned a music store for 8 years and specialise in acoustic instruments including a vast array of ukes. Have met many nice folks who play or are looking to play ukulele over the years and have seen a huge rise in the popularity of the instrument. If you are in town please visit. I'm always happy to talk ukes, give advise etc.
Cheers,
Tony

Hiya Tony! Welcome to UU!

For anyone living in the North East of England: Hound Dog is defo the best ukulele shop in the area. Excellent range, set-up, service and price!

(PS: How come Whitley Bay has sun today and we in the East End of Newcastle have tones of snow instead? So unfair! lol)

Hi Tony,
Welcome to ths great forum. I now live in Essex but am from Middlesbrough. Wish I had known about your shop year ago. Are you still selling the Cowell ukes?
Good to see you join.

I'll add my voice to the choir, and say welcome to the Ukulele Underground, Tony!

I should also say that I shouldn't have looked at your website, because I do not have space for another uke. Those RISAs look absolutely sublime, though.

Hope you enjoy your time here!

Hi Ben, Yes still got the Cowell concerts. He made one for me that is entirely made from timbers from the SS Olympic (mahogany, oak). He usually just makes the bodies from Mahogany and uses other timbers for the neck etc.

I like the RISA's - they are all solid woods, very light, nice punchy sound and, unlike almost every other uke, not made in China.
