the local uke enthusiasts have been talking for ages about running a ukulele festival and finally some energetic and passionate people got one together. They called it Rattle and Strum. It was great. It was held at a property on which the owners have located a sort of mini historic village with a small church and other buildings relocated from around the town. 70ish people turned up. A day of workshops followed by an open mic concert with plenty of time to sit in the shade and jam, swap ideas or just drink beer and talk rubbish. I ran a 45 minute workshop and taught 50 people to play a simple 12 bar blues progression and a simple no-fail scale to go with it. It seemed to go down really well. A beautiful sunny day, fantastic https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=490417607685096&set=a.489505847776272.1073741825.107939789266215&type=1&theater https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=489506104442913&set=a.489505847776272.1073741825.107939789266215&type=1&theater

They did have a couple of local sellers - bags and stands - this year. But, yes, we are talking about that already.
