So I'm trying to do a cigar box project with no experience what so ever so this could be interesting aha

Right so I have a cigar box and my first question is this box suitable
It's just under 22.5cm in length, about 4cm deep, 13.5cm width
It is made of what appears to be plywood.

The best cigar boxes that I've found are the vintage ones from central american countries. A lot of them are cedar or even mahogany. The one in the pic dosn't look too bad. I typically use the back as the top.

Rightio will bear that in mind in future.
Would a neck like this be suitable? Or would I need to make my own
?

Right got the bottom off and discovered a few cracks in the lid... Is this okay as long as I add supports?

Are you in the UK? If the box is plywood, it shouldn't be splitting. Look around on ebay, you might find a better box for cheap. Or even go to a Cigar/Smoke shop sometimes they give them away for free.

That neck looks properly horrible and will most likely be more hassle than making your own from scratch.

A cigar box from Jamaica will work ok for Reggae music.
If you are in the UK, you should look for the Churchill brand.

OK, having made over 100 cigar box ukes myself, plywood boxes suck IMO. Your box is also too shallow. If I were you, I would look for another box, one made of solid cedar or redwood. You need to draw everything out on paper first before you start slapping things together.

They work great for resonator ukes. Just add a national cone and you've got one hell of a cool uke (IMHO).
