I used the search function to find my topic to no avail but saw what I wanted while scrolling through the various posts.

try strumming like this

(C chord) down,up,down,up (switch to G chord) down,up,down,up

and so on until you faster and smoother


I hope this helps, Im not a very good teacher. Im self taught myself but I do know the more practice you put into it, the more you become comfortable with it.
