Hey, I've been playing for around 3 weeks and I was wondering if a pineapple style ukulele is ok for beginners? I already own an Ohana Concert size, but I just think the pineapple looks really cool.

go for it. cheapest right now would be the ebay lanikai gambler's specials but they are a gamble! a flea might fit your bill or mainland, etc.

Go for it. Look at Luna.

Check out the Kamoa E-3 series. Solid wood and a great sound. Also the Ohana solid mahogany for under $200, I've heard is a nice one as well.

Just because its a beginner, that doesn't mean you have to buy cheap. I hear this all the time with parents and their kids starting an instrument. I don't mean to preach, but get the best you can afford.

The MK-P can be hit or miss. Had one that had bad intonation. Make sure you buy from someone that will do a setup. You may pay a few extra $$ but it will be worth it in the long run.
