Hey, I've been playing for around 3 weeks and I was wondering if a pineapple style ukulele is ok for beginners? I already own an Ohana Concert size, but I just think the pineapple looks really cool.
Why the heck not! It's just the body that's a little different after all. Take a peak at the Kala KA-P. Nice little entry level pineapple with a nice price tag.
Just because its a beginner, that doesn't mean you have to buy cheap. I hear this all the time with parents and their kids starting an instrument. I don't mean to preach, but get the best you can afford.
Sure a pineapple is great for a beginner . You can get a soprano with concert neck from Mainland, Tenor neck with concert from Mainland and of course Kamoa, Flea, Kala, Ohana are all wonderful.
The MK-P can be hit or miss. Had one that had bad intonation. Make sure you buy from someone that will do a setup. You may pay a few extra $$ but it will be worth it in the long run.
