hey UU, i was just wondering if anyone knew if the Kala KA-KTE-C was solid of laminated koa. i've heard both so i'm just a bit confused.

my understanding if it doesn't say solid. then most likely its laminated. but you can always ask the MGM. I'm assuming you are going to buy from him.

The soundboard is SOLID... cedar. The back and side are probably laminate. Itsa nice uke!

i've seen the cedar model too, but the one i'm looking at is the koa top/back/and sides.

ya i was under the impression that since it didn't say "solid" it was laminate, but the lady at the store in SF i went to said it was solid.

either way it sounded great. i was just wondering if anyone knew for sure

Kala ka kte c is a laminate ukulele the c is for cutaway if it isaid ka kte ct then it would mean cedartop which is solid but the back and sides are laminate Still sounds fine though.

Yep, MGM is right, it's laminated. It sounds great plugged-in.

thanks you guys for the info.

and i definately agree, plugged in it sounded amazing. unplugged still sounded great to me too.
