Uke Open Mics in your area?

Are you fortunate enough to have an actual uke open mic in your area?

I have been looking for that locally, and so far I don't see any.

Would be fun.

I host a monthly Open Stage in Morristown, NJ (about an hour or so from you). It's not Uke specific but every one is welcomed and encouraged.

The open mic I usually go to isn't uke-specific. Sometimes there's another uke player there, more often there isn't.

As far as my area goes, the Ukulele Union of Boston always has an open mic portion to its bi-weekly meetings, and there's a monthly uke open mic in Worcester. But I rarely get to the UUoB meetings, and I haven't been to any of the Worcester open mics.

There are a few open mics in my area. There is one right down the road from me which is not Uke specific and I've never been but I saw an ad for it in my local coffee shop. Here is a link to a bunch that are in the Lower Mainland and BC. I've never been to any but maybe one day I will get over my fear of performing and go check one out.

On a side not I recently read a good book about a guy who travels around Britain playing open mics. It's a travelogue with a heavy ukulele theme. It's a nice quick funny read. Check it out : The Uke of Wallington. Support a fellow uker!
