Aloha UU,

Check out the back and sides for my new Mike Pereira custom tenor cut from a Walnut tree in Glen Ellen, CA.

I'm going to call this uke The Big Dog!

Mike gave me other choices of beautiful Walnut back and sides but this one was just amazing!

I think the first song you should play on this uke is "Hound Dog."

Ask Mike, that song was my first choice too. But then there are these options:

Baha Men – Who Let The Dogs Out (2000)
Bobby Bland – I Wouldn’t Treat A Dog (The Way You Treated Me) (1974)
Led Zeppelin – Black Dog (1972)
Lobo – Me And You And A Dog Named Boo (1971)
Cat Stevens – I Love My Dog (1966)
Rufus Thomas – Somebody Stole My Dog (1964)
Baby Jane & The Rockabyes – How Much Is That Doggie In The Window (1963)
Paul Anka - Puppy Love (1960)

Yo, New, I think I see an image of Jesus in your walnut.

Aloha Fisherman,

Everyone sees something different in an artist's work. Thanks again for inspiring this order with your own Pereira Walnut/Redwood tenor ukulele. And kudos to Ken Middleton for his wonderful Youtube video of this Pereira wood combination:

Great name Don. Awesome looking wood set. Of course you could name it "Droopy Dog" as well. www.youtube.com/watch?v=T5QpGzkL0h4

Thanks for that classic cartoon! "No noose is good noose" and "We aim to police" on the prison and police department signs cracked me up.

The Periera ukulele will be so fun that it will probably have a lot of names like me: Don Ho, Dondi, The Little Round-headed Kid, Pineapple Head, and a bunch of others I would never write here.

Mahalo,

Don

If it comes out looking like The Scream that would increase its value even more. That would be like the Shroud of Turin but not with Jesus.
