Dang, did it again. I just couldn't pass it up.... Ya know, gotta keep collecting for the future generations of family Pickers.

2008 David Webber Baritone. Highly figured Koa back and sides, wonderful Englemann Spruce top,Koa binding and faceplate, figured ebony fretboard and bridge, Bone nut and saddle, Simple black and white rosette, gotoh tuners with a really nice hard shell case, Scale length 20.5"

The neck is very thin and fast with nice low action, one of the nicest I've felt. The uke is in mint condition. I really like that there's no fret buttons on the front. Just a really nice simple elegant look. Has Aquila strings that could stand changing so will change out to something else. Perhaps, Hilos, Addario T2's or?

David Webber is a very well known luthier in the guitar world working out of N. Vancouver,BC, Canada. His prices are incredible considering the quality of builds he does. I spoke with him today and he doesn't do many baritone ukes but has a couple of mahogany with E. Spruce tops in the shop and two Koa and E. Spruce tops almost done.

I bought from member Markallen. saw it in the Marketplace and noticed he lived close to me. We met at the Skagit Casino and bought it. He also brought his Larrivee Soprano to show. Holy Moly, It is one of the most beautiful instruments I have ever held. I gave him my card and told him I wanted first refusal if he ever decides to sell it. Course, I doubt he'll ever sell it lol.

Boy I have to thin the herd a bit. Probably will sell the vintage Favilla bari. to start with. One more to go and then I swear..... no more. HA!

Aloha bruddah Pat,
Congrats on the new score...it looks awesome..the curly back and sides very high end..I love the thin fast necks....what a score...I don't have an
Idea what it costs, but I'd get it...sorry to hear the favilla has to go and was an in between uke....I am sure you had great times with it also
Oh boy a larrivee Ukulele, never held or played one....happy strummings...have fun and enjoy....she looks great...it is a she, isn't it????

Very nice!

I love the shape of the headstock. The "flat top" is reminiscent of vintage instruments.

Wow, that koa is stunning! It's a beautiful instrument. I'm sure if it sounds half as nice as it looks, you'll get much enjoyment out of it.

How does it sound when you strum it hard? I am always afraid that Englemann is a little muddy.

Nice Pat!
congrats..

I'm blown away by the bright, clear sound Non. I've never played an instrument with such clarity and sustain. I'm not really a hard strummer more of a finger picker. This is my first spruce top so should be interesting.

Thanks, Len, it was great talking with you today. I also wrote Stan a little note about the Griffin uke.

Thankyou everyone for being so upbeat on the uke. The koa is stunning. Will do a sound thing for sure. As Uncle Stan says,"Be patient and the right uke will come to you."

love da salmon....goes well with my salmon uke....oh boy...

That's great to hear!! I hope you have many years of enjoyment.

I am a big fan of spruce and I personally like the guitar makers crossing over to make ukes as it seems like in general, the guitar world hold higher standards of build quality than ukes . However, if I want a koa uke, I will buy Hawaiian.

Very nice looking leedle guitar (and I loveses my leedle guitars, BTW) :)

Hi Pat,
It was great to meet you and have a chance to turn over this wonderful instrument to a good home. Thanks for the kind words about the Larravee, it's a very special uke and who knows, someday it may make it into your collection. For now, I'm happy with my wonderful Hornet size uke built by Jake Maclay's Hive Ukuleles. I'm looking forward to getting together with you in the future. Keep in touch.

Mark

Congratulations! That ukulele is gorgeous! I'm a big fan of baritones, although i don;'t yet have one with a spruce top.

wow ... that is a great Uke ... I am considering a Tenor from him ... now that I have seen and played Dave's.

Curious how you might discuss or comment on how a Koa back and sides tempers or colours the Spruce top ... does it make it softer, and slightly warmer?

That is in incredible looking baritone, from the proportioning to the killer curly koa it is drop dead beautiful. Thanks for turning me on to David Webber.
