I got some sweet koa from John Cope of copelele.blogspot.com ("weerpool" here on UU). I used it to make the body for this super soprano. (Actually the body is smaller than most sopranos. Does that make it a super-duper soprano??)
I've built a bunch of solid-body travel and electric ukuleles, but this was my first time bending side wood and make a traditionally shaped uke. I got a bunch of advice from John, and have also gleaned tons of info from the builders on this forum. I learned a lot from this build and will incorporate my knowledge into my next projects.
Some other specs:
-15 inch scale
-Under saddle piezo connected to endpin jack
-Rosewood fretboard
-Cherry neck and mahogany headstock (I was going to use all mahogany for the neck, but the color of the two woods matched really well)
-Worth brown strings
Demo time!
