1. Is it possible to simulate a low-G Tenor on a Soprano ukulele by using a Classical Guitar "D" string cut in half?

2. If it is, would the tension required / thickness of the "D" string mangle my soprano ukulele? I would like to find this out NOT by seeing if it gets mangled :)

Thank you!

1. Yep.

2. A wound classical guitar string of gauge between 0.026" and 0.030" should have nice tension and shouldn't require any adjustment (at least not to try it out).

Have fun!
