I have been following the various threads related to the Youthalele that was designed as a low cost easy to assemble Soprano Uke by Bradford Donaldson.
My intention was to make several for family members among others. A tenor size was requested and by reading various books, forum entries and YouTube videos a rough set of dimensions were scaled up and drawn out. Some of the changes from the original plan will be for an angled headstock and a Bolted neck.
So, this weekend, over the space of three days I piddled around in the shop and generated a full size cardboard and plywood mockup to check dimensions and proportions.
It was simple and a lot of fun. The result showed among other things what areas need tweeking.
Now I need to start building a couple of jigs and getting the materials for a real build.
