Thank you Ukemunga for setting off the light bulb in my head.
I have been struggling to bond with my new Kelii long neck soprano and now I know why.
I was weaned on a soprano flea.
After munga's comment on another thread, I compared nuts on the two ukes. (that is surely a straight line for some clever uu'er)
Yikes! Not even close.
Combine that with the fact that the fret spacing on a soprano flea is closer to a standard concert fretboard, the back of the neck is flatter and the zero fret is quite forgiving and BINGO my frustration is explained.
I envy those that can deftly switch from one format to the next but I am not one of them.
This means, that I will probably put my Kelii up for sale soon.

That means you might be in the market for a fluke :p
I do have to admit I really like the wide nut. I've got sausage finger pads. I'd probably be happy with a flea and/or fluke myself. Not a huge fan of the grover tuners though. They're a bit finnicky.
