Love it! We played this at the Reno Uke Fest last weekend. It's a great uke tune.

Thanks for sharing that, it looks like fun. Hmmmm, wonders if can convince local groups to come together to do that. We have a "Northgate" mall here....

At first, it reminded me of the famous Max Yasger quote at Woodstock:

"This is the largest group of people ever assembled in one place, and I think you people have proven something to the world: that a half a million kids can get together and have three days of fun and music and have nothing *but* fun and music, and I God bless you for it!"

Then I noticed the guy in the hoodie parka while others were wearing shorts and Hawaiian shirts. Oh well, different strokes...

Makes me wonder....how many participants constitute a "flash mob"? I don't think our local uke group has enough members to pull off a stunt like this, but it sure looks like fun....

Stan, it was a combination of clubs, mainly around the Marin and Sonoma area in California. I know the Petalukes got an email about it. I was going to go, but then I was not home that weekend.

I've seen a lot of ukulele flash mob videos lately, though most are just a bunch of ukulele players playing together, which I don't know if that specifically qualifies.

I think they just wanted to be stealth with the bags for a hasty exit,or we could get elaborate and say it was in honor of Tiny Tim's birthday the day before filming.:D

I'm guessing they used bags so they would blend in with the shoppers at the mall, to make it a complete surprise when all the ukes suddenly appear. If everybody brought their ukes in cases, the other shoppers would notice and know something was happening in advance.
