I recently lost out on a fairly awesome local deal because I didn't have ready cash; I didn't have ready cash because I've been "borrowing" from my uke fund for some smaller purchases. Poor management, ladies and gentlemen.

So, here's another little uke for your consideration: an Emenee Flamingo soprano.

Obligatory teasers:

These Arthur Godfrey endorsed ukes don't quite have the hype of Islanders, which is a shame; I've owned both, and they're comparable in terms of build quality and sound. Here's some bio/background info, courtesey of Ukenique: http://www.ukenique.com/shop/sold-products/emenee-flamingo-1950s-ukulele/ and a compare/contrast write-up by Al at Ukulelehunt: http://ukulelehunt.com/buy-ukulele/unusual/plastic-ukulele/

This Flamingo is in great shape for its age: there are a few surface scratches and a scuff on the bottom, and the headstock logo is slightly faded.

It took me a while to match up the right strings, but after a few attempts I settled on Ko'olau Mahanas. They have good balance, good bass, and about as much sustain as I think a plastic uke will yield.

This uke also has the Uke Player, (that's the box/button contraption on the neck), for those who can't be bothered to actually fret a chord.

That's it, folks. $60 USD gets it shipped to your door anywhere CONUS. International buyers can get in touch to work out any further details.

More pics to follow. Cheers.

Dang it, why do ukes I want come up right after I have spent my money on a different uke I wanted. Will this never end?

If I sell one of my ukes today, you'll get a PM from me.

Dan
