I'm about 40 days into this journey, and I must confess - my second is on the way next week.

Should I feel bad? ;)

Nahhh, don't feel bad. It's gonna happen eventually. You'll find an excuse to get another, then another. Your other half will file a TRO and you'll be sleeping in the DH but at least you'll have your uke(s). Happiness is a warm gun! LOL!!!! If it's in your budget, don't feel bad.

You should feel excited! Each one of my ukes sounds different from the others. I've been happy with one piano and one of many other instruments, but not so with the ukuleles~ they are so much fun!

I got my first Uke over Thanksgiving 2010, from my Father-in-law.

I received my Third Uke via UPS January 2, 2011.

Why feel bad?

I have two more due within the next month.

Yeah, you should feel bad. I would have expected you to have at least 3 by now. :D

Feel bad?

I have three on order right now (two on the way in the shipping system and one more being made) and while I don't bad, I do feel a little gluttonous.

I'm number 35 on the list for an Outdoor Ukulele.
I ordered an uke from BruceWeiArt.
I also ordered a thing called a Cumbush Ukulele. (pronounced JimBoosh)

All three of them are low cost, and I am taking a risk somewhat on all three, but it's more fun to me than risking it at the casino.

Outdoor Ukulele: I wanted one since they first offered them
last summer on KickStarter.

A beautiful simple uke from Bruce Wei. The pic on eBay is that actual instrument you are buying. After I bought it, I noticed the rosette is on crooked...

This is a Cumbus Ukulele. A Cumbus is an oud like Turkish instrument. Sales were slowing down, so the diversified and make Cumbus ukes, mandolins, etc. Looks cool anyway.

I bought my second ukulele about 3 weeks after getting my first one. I have bought a few more since then, but my second uke is still what I prefer to play.

Yes, feel bad. Feel guilty, feel selfish and self centered.

I'm about 40 days into this Uke thing and I own two with another on order. Then again, there are the 2 basses, 6 guitars, 2 resonator lap steels, 2 solid body lap steels, 1 Weissenborn, 5 mandolins, 1 clarinet, 2 djembes and at least a couple of other instruments that I probably haven't seen for awhile.

So yes, you should feel really bad. :iwant:

Yes, feel bad. Forty days in and you don't even have the second one in your possession yet? Are you a procrastinator in other areas of your life?

LOL. Let us know when #2 arrives, and show us pix. We love pix.

Nothing too extravagant. A Boulder Creek Riptide.

Ukes are like potato chips. You cannot have just one. They are small and tasty but are not bad for your health.

I try to get one uke a year... or maybe two.

You don't need to feel bad :) ...I went from 1-4 ukes in the space of 2 months.

Just read up on Ukulele Acquisition Syndrome (UAS) and tell any naysayers that you've developed UAS.

Not at all, I think I was in that same time frame when I got my 2nd.

One can never have too many ukes, or guitars in my opinion. Be happy!

Here everyone understandably talks about UAS, but on other forums you may have seen the acronym GAS (gear acquisition syndrome). Its just the nature of things. We get passionate about an instrument and we just want to have more of it.

I have 5 basses, 3 guitars, a dobro, and now a ukulele. This doesn't include all the instruments my wife and kids own (mandolins, guitars, fiddles, a cello, a djembe, a piano).

I'm only 2 weeks into the uke (and loving it) and I was looking at a second uke before the first one even arrived. They are such beautiful and compelling instruments, and a whole lot less expensive than many other instruments (my upright basses, omg i practically needed a second mortgage ).

Gaahh...
My one and only guitar lasted me 6 years, and my eyes never wandered.

2 months into my first uke, and I have my eye on three other ukes; Eleuke Jazz, Ohana solid cedar top, Anuenue longneck PaPa I...
Respective justifications: Silent practice, Solid top, More frets with soprano sound.
Thank god my fiancee controls the money.

But this addiction, it's consuming me :wallbash:

The "reasonable" price-tag of ukes really helps too... fortunately (or unfortunately?)

Don't feel bad - my second uke came about 3 days after my first - although I had the excuse of being in Hawaii at the time. I've also got a shipment of 13 (yes thirteen!) ukes arriving tomorrow. My excuse on that one is that my daughter's school needs a ukulele program and I found a good deal.
