Ps mine is playing in nicely... Sounds even better now after a few weeks of playing. Splurged on a Kamoa case a couple of weeks ago which fits well... In case you are still looking for something that fits

Great looking uke Don. The figuring in the walnut is so unique. It is cool when nature gives you such an image. Once you get "The Hound Dog Tenor" , please give us a sound sample.

Hey Don!!!! Congrats man on your new MP!!!!! I'm sure you will like it!!! Is is a gloss finish or kind of gloss handpolish like he used to do? All the 5 MP that I have are hand polish....

I really like MP ukes....kind of special tone too compare to more traditional ukes.... Post soundclip man when you can!!!!

I just finished a new recording with my singer late this morning and I'll probably add some ukulele in it during the day.....I'll play on my MP probably!!!!

Beautiful Uke. Mike makes some of the most finely crafted ukes on the planet. My Mango/Cedar/Koa is a little over a week old and it already has about 5,000 miles on it.:D

I might add that of all the instruments I own, the only one that comes close to my MP Uke with respect to attention to detail is my National Estralita biscuit cone resonator; and Mike is a National alumni. Coincidence? I think not.

Hey man, I saw your beautiful MP from the Reno Ukulele Festival right? Congratulations on that one.

My experience with Mike was so great. He's got to be the fastest builder in the West. I'm going to enjoy this Hound Dog Tenor and will probably commission another instrument from him early next year.

Mahalo,

Don

Yes, that was the one. I saw it early on and, after wandering around and looking at everything else on display, I kept coming back to it. After three return trips (I had gone to Reno with a specific $$ amount in mind, so I had to do a bit of attitude adjustment during my laps around the booths), I knew it was going home with me.

To be honest, I have been thinking of asking Mike about building me a lap uke. However, I have violated my "one out before one in" agreement with myself several times over the past year or so and, this time I am going to exercise a bit of restraint. Anybody interested in a 1968 Rickenbaker 4001?

Hi David,

The uke has a bright and clear voice and I have it tuned to re-entrant Bb with Southcoast mediums. It is so comfortable to play and great sounding that I often forget about the hound dog's face on the back. Its just a fun bonus every time I look at it.

My ukulele collection is mainly koa and mahogany wood instruments so its a refreshing change to have a redwood top and walnut back and sides ukulele. The craftsmanship on this instrument is flawless. Plus its affordable and Mike builds quickly and efficiently. He is such a pleasure to work with as well. I am an MP fan.

When my wife saw the back she immediately called it a Green Man. I had to look it up and shared it with Mike Pereira as well:

Mahalo,

Don

I had always associated little green men with the canals of Mars. I think that Rover cought a glimpse of one last year. It might have been removed from Youtube for a digital rights violation.
