My Pheasant wood 5-string tenor build has started this morning......
... with pictures from the luthier.

The bear claw spruce top is joined.

New decision: ebony stripe on the back.

More pics.

Well the pheasant wood got a bit darker with thicknessing, so JC and I thought it best to go with koa stripe and binding.

Pheasant wood, never saw that before. It is lovely, Doc! And the other day I saw a pic of pistachio wood uke! I'm intrigued by these new (to me) wood combinations. That koa stripe is also special.

New build update pics.

Taking shape and looking good. Do you have an estimated completion date?

Thanks again for sharing. I'm looking forward to a sound bite

No firm completion date, but the luthier (JC) explained all that to me before we started. And I'm OK with that.

My guess is it will done within about a month or so.

Sweet...Soon it'll be the 13 uke sound challenge Can we send you our own sound bites to add? If we can't find several ukes we like after your sound challenge, we must not like ukuleles. HAHAA

First coat of lacquer. About 3 more weeks and it will be ready!
