Just completed tenor from John S. Kinnard out of Fallbrook California-

Figured maple with Sitka spruce top.
Rosewood binding with herringbone purfling on the top.
Herringbone rosette.
Ebony fingerboard, bridge and faceplate

Very nice--I've been watching these. I really like all the detail work. I think the only thing I would change if it were my uke is the flat top of the headstock
 
I just passed along the Kinnard road uke -- a rosewood/spruce tenor -- and will post a review as soon as I work out some computer woes.

As far as the detail of the work is concerned: pics don't even come close.
 
Nobody's commented on the run-out in the top that makes the side-to-side color change. It doesn't bother me, either, but there are dealers who would reject the instrument because of it. Its strictly a cosmetic issue, but its something to watch for if you're into building high-end instruments. I've had to retop H&D guitars for that very thing, since converting them to sunbursts won't fly for most dealers.
