I didn't get a new ukulele for Christmas but I did get some musical stuff.

My lovely family bought me the Mbox 2 Pro with Pro Tools 8 for my recording studio. The Mbox is the recording hardware interface between the microphone and your computer. I've been using the original Mbox for the past five years and this new version is a big improvement. For one, it communicates with the computer via Firewire instead of USB - so latency times are reduced (yeah!).

They also bought me a new set of headphones - Audio Technic ATH-M50. These are made specifically for mixing and monitoring (e.g., more 3 AM's alone with the computer...)

Anyway...

I recorded a new song yesterday with the new gear. A New Years song. Solo Talsma Uke.

Drive safely on New Years! Leave your car at home. The $10 cab ride will be the best money you spend that night.

Hey Gerald!

That sounded absolutely amazing.

Just curious. What kind of mic are you using to record this?

Thanks and best for the new year

Vincent

Thanks guys.

Vincent... no mic. I'm plugging directly into the computer. My Talsma tenor uke has a MI-SI under-the-saddle pickup.
