Thanks for posting, I didn't expect this video up so soon after airing it yesterday. We just finished watching it. Really enjoyed it.

I saw an earlier cut of this film at the Asian American Film Festival in San Francisco last year. I haven't seen the finished film, but I'm hoping PBS (or Jake's website) offers it on DVD.

It's available as a pre-order from PBS as DVD, also as pre-order from Amazon... probably other places too. :)

Thanks for the link Matimateo! I especially liked some of the older footage of Jake, and seeing a little of his family too.

I thought the doc. was very well done also. A nice blend of the past, present and putting fame, etc. in perspective (re: footage of tsunami in Japan, etc.). I've seen Jake a couple of times out here on the east coast, US and he is the reason I started playing ukulele. He and his people come across as very nice folks...spreading the aloha spirit. I've never met him personally although he usually does a meet and greet after a show. I've spoken with his wife who is very nice. The first show, there was a "line" to meet him, autographs, etc. I didn't have time to wait around. NOW, the lines are VERY long! Oh well. I hope he continues to do well and continues to remember where he came from. From what I observe.....CLASS ACT.

I loved the documentary. Thought is was very well done and Jake and his "team" seem to be nice... He has so much talent and so it was good to see the more personal side, and find out he's such a nice guy too.
