I have a set of Laguna Uke strings which are labled 23 B RS851, 29 F RS852, 29 D RS853, 23 A RS854. I know that the thinnest is the 1st string and the fattest the 3rd etc. However, the two thin strings look the same to the eye and the two fat strings also look the same. We have been playing a family game of "which is the thinnest and which is the fatest" and cannot reach agreement.

From the lables which string is which?
Thanks

The letters in the labels probably correspond to ADF#B tuning:

A 4
D 3
F 2
B 1

Thanks for this. I assume therefore that on a Concert Uke tuned to GCEA I would string as follows:

G = A 4
C = D 3
E = F 2
A = B 1

Sorry if it is obvious but this is all new to me and the string labelling seems rather cryptic.

It's always good to ask the question.

I tried a set of those Lagunas and ended up putting them on backwards because I didn't bother to pay attention to the labels.
But I do have to say I rather like the strings on that particular uke even backwards.
