Hey guys,

What gear do you use when you perform? Maybe we can exchange useful ideias here.

I try to mount as many things on a single stand so I use:
a cheap stand
this hanger for two ukes attached to the stand http://elderly.com/accessories/items/CC04-V/M.htm - there is a small metal thing that I use to attach my tuner, capo and setlist
this side mount boom for miking the uke (this is new, I never actually used it) http://elderly.com/new_instruments/items/SMB7.htm
mics: 1) a generic voice mic, as I'm not a singer and I only do occasional backing vocals and 2) a Shure PG81 for miking the ukes

I carry my instruments in a double gig bag (actually for cavaquinhos) and carry all the gear in a hand bag. This way I save space and carry less stuff than I would if I carried two stands, then two floor stands, two cases etc.

Oh man, I love that double uke hanger! Wish I had known about that sooner. I use two aNueNue hangers (http://www.amazon.com/musical-instruments/dp/B003ES5HQW) on my boom mic stand, along with an O-Tray (http://www.amazon.com/O-Tray-Microphone-Stand-Drink-Holder/dp/B0018T62KE). The double uke hanger is a much cheaper solution. (But then, it can't hold a drink!)

I also have an iPad holder on my frankenstand, similar to this one: http://www.amazon.com/Microphone-Adapter-Holder-Multimedia-Thorn/dp/B0064EGHV2.

For a mic, I use a Shure SM-58.

I plug my two ukes into a Boss LS-2 Line Selector stompbox, which goes into an L.R. Baggs Para-Acoustic DI, and then either directly into the board, or into a Roland AC-60 amp (where I add a little reverb).

Before I got the Para-Acoustic, I was using a Zoom G2Nu to add compression, EQ and reverb (and occasionally some tremelo), but it's really meant for electric guitars and it didn't have an XLR out, so I was never completely happy with it. I was hoping the new Zoom A3 would be the answer, but after playing with it in a store, I really was not happy with the user interface or the limited effects. If I could find a used A2 for a good price, I'd love to try that, because I do like having different patches for my different ukes.

Cool. I always wanted something to control the volume and tone of my ukes. I play a banjo uke and a wooden one, and since the volumes are very different I have to stand back when playing the banjo. Do you know anything?

I love that tray! Elderly has got this one, but I think it will be too much on the stand haha (http://elderly.com/accessories/items/SCH.htm)

If you can live with just having different volumes for your two ukes, the Boss LS-2 has separate volume knobs for each input. That helps even out the sound between the active pickup of my O-8E and the passive pickup in my banjo-uke. (And actually, it also has a third input without a volume knob, that I've used to plug in a harmonica mic.)
