I am using a Mahalo U 30 the cheapest intrument I could find. I 've put Worth tenor strings on it and the results have been really good. Nice mellow tone and good feel. Worth tenor strings are long enough to string three soprano ukuleles.
This makes them really inexpensive if you can find two other ukuleles to string.
In my case I restrung a uke for the kid down the road. Any other good quality ideas?
