Not sure if this is the right place for this, but here it is.

After a few year Hiatus, I have found myself in a situation where I am going to be able to resume building instruments. I am working on getting my website back up and running, but until then feel free to contact me through private message here.

Yes it's been awhile Thomas . . . Glad to have you back. Are you still in Italy?

Thanks Kanaka, I'm excited to get back at it. I have only built 4 or 5 instruments in the last few years, and that doesnt even come close to satisfying the instrument building itch.

I just moved to Washington State after a few year stint in Asia, and am setting up shop here for the forseeable future. That will benefit those in the US on the tax and shipping front for sure.

Take care,
Thomas

Thomas...congratulations! Do you have any sample pix of your work?

UU hasn't changed much just a lot more members. We do have a number of members as well as builders in the Pacific Northwest. Looking forward to your upcoming builds.

Hi Nickie,

I have attached a few pictures of some instruments I have made. If you do a search on the forum, you are bound to come up with some more, and peoples impressions of my instruments.

Here are a few sound samples of other people playing my instruments much better than I ever could.

Pawel actually bought the 2nd instrument I ever sold, and then a few years later the instrument in this video. Im still in contact with him from time to time, and always checking his youtube channel for new songs. He is a great player.

Take care,
Thomas

Welcome back

Hi Thomas :)

I'm so glad you're building again. I was so pleased with how fantastic my concert pineapple was. My pal was so impressed with mine, he contacted Thomas to get his own. In fact, my Makapili is right next to me as I type... I can't recommend these ukes highly enough.

I put photos on my UU profile page when my pineapple arrived.

That Pawel guy has some great vids! Is that a side sound port I see? :drool:Do you know about how much your new tenors will cost?

And here are my two pineapple Concerts, and the one I got from 'Uke Leash' Lori, for my friend Pierre . - when the three were together.

Am so pleased to hear you will be building ukes again!

Thanks Anna,

I check your youtube channel a lot hoping for new videos. The ones that are there are great.

Take care,
Thomas

BTW Thomas, when you do get finally settled I would like to get some contact info to update the info on the builders site. Thanks.

Hi Jim, Yes, I put side soundports in pretty much all of the instruments I build that are bigger than soprano. I am in the process of figuring out pricing, but I think that I will be happy with a base price of 650 for Soprano, 750 for concerts, 850 for tenors and 950 for baritones for the first few orders, just to get the ball rolling. These prices will rise though. Call it a reintroductory sale if you will.

Kanaka, I am figuring out the website stuff now, I will get the contact info to you as soon as possible. Thanks,
Take care,
Thomas

Will definitely be getting another Makapili, this time a tenor.
I miss my Makapili Concert ( but Ed I'm glad you have it).

Been listening to these videos. That koa tenor that Pawel is playing and the soprano that wwelti is playing sound particularly sweet - do you recall what wood that was? I'm not as keen on the hinoki tone for myself (you'll probably tell me that soprano is hinoki :) ) though it is still a good sounding uke - I just like warmer over brighter generally. I'm guessing you can get some great stuff out of PNW woods like myrtle and red cedar - I'm definitely looking forward to your new ukes!
