My 4th from-scratch build since taking Rick Turner's workshop. The soundboard and neck are Incense Cedar, the back, sides, and fingerboard are Manzanita. Here are a few shots.

Here's the raw cedar.
53658

I sandwiched a slice of manzanita in the neck for added stiffness.
53659

Soundboard glued to the spanish heel neck.
53660

Sides added.

Finished product.

Every one looks and sounds better than the last. Great job Doug.

I was wondering how you finished this one also? Looks and sounds great.

Very nice Doug. I agree this may be your best (so far). What have you been changing in your builds?

Thanks, everyone. I used Tru oil for the finish, it's probably the easiest for my skill level. I may do another coat or two.

And Doc_J, as for what I've been changing, it's mostly trying to avoid the mistakes from my previous builds, but I also used incense cedar instead of cypress for the soundboard and neck. I'll probably do a few more with that, it seems to work out pretty well. It's fairly closely related to western red cedar, it's pretty light. The finished uke is 17.3 oz.

Bravo, Doug! That's a super skill you have.
This means you don't ever have to leave home, right?

Thanks, everyone for the comments. You'll probably see more of this one featured in my season entries, and I think I may have some surprises in store with this one. :)
