In honor of Uncle Rod Higuchi's birthday, I thought I would share with beginners the famous Uncle Rod's Boot Camp! If you print this up or download it to your gadget of choice, and do what Uncle Rod tells you, your playing will improve much more quickly than it would otherwise.

Here's the link, which is also in Uncle Rod's signature:

The Boot Camp is at the bottom of the list of downloads. Help yourself to the other downloads, too.

Be assured that the title is completely tongue-in-cheek. Like Uncle Rod himself, the Boot Camp is non-military and unintimidating. The exercises are useful for learning chord changes and basic skills, but they also lay a good foundation for practice techniques and are a great warmup tool.

Any non-beginners have tips or suggestions for using this tool? Want to share your experiences? Uncle Rod, anything you want to add for new 'ukers? (And thanks, Uncle Rod, for making this available to all of us!)

Mahalo for all the nice birthday wishes.

Ill be seeing Ralph Shaw tonight at a home concert.

Got my bamboo uke and played it for a couple of hours at a kanikapila.

The Cordoba bamboo uke is a player with a sweet sound. Very easy on the fingers.

Anyway,Thanks UU Ohana,.

Keep uke .In,
