Uke Lesson 13 - If I Ain't Got You

Seriously, if we didn't have you guys, UU wouldn't be much. : D

Uke Minutes Lesson 13 - If I Ain't Got You

Give us your input and comment below! This is the very first time we've had a "Chord Patterns" section, mostly because this song has some very specific patterns with some fast changes, so it might make it easier if you memorized the patterns instead of having to look at the chords all the time. Was it helpful? Does it make sense? Let us know!

Thanks to all you UUers out there - you are definitely the best members on the planet!

o snap. this is gettin crazy!

How easy do you make it for us!!??

Gosh you are doing a top job and thanks for making it SOOOOO easy for us! Chords lit up on the left, words and chords on the right and visual to watch the strumming technique. There cannot be a better way to teach online.
Thanks you all so much and please remember we appreciate all the hard work.

thanks

another great helpful video,

some questions:

the high version of your CM7 looks looks like a Em to me (in fact a CM7 without the root) i this on purpose or just for simplification terms?

also i realized that you have a nifty way of putting a am7 in on the downstroke
( taking the finger way from the 2 fret g string )
any elaboration on that (aside that it sounds good :)

thanks a lot lot lot,

i really appreciate your stuff!

that CM7 is exactly how you see it. A maj7 chord without the root. It stems from the chord shape of Gmaj7 and raised by 2 and a half steps up (5 frets) I left the top string open because the top note G is in the C chord anyway :D

As far as the downstroke on the open string goes; I hit it just so that it acts as a ghost note. Just something to fill up space. Since our key is G, it's simple to use that string as a ghost note.

hope that helps!

ah, i see.
thanks for the reply.

but now i have to ask:
who is this wonderful woman?

did i miss something?
i mean she must have a name...

If you watched the whole video, you would've seen her name at the end lol.

And I thought that extra Am7 was like an impulse or something, cuz I have to try hard not to do that.

no worries lol. I was wondering the same thing too until this came up and I watched the whole video.....:uhoh: I guess were just as imbecile as everyone else...ehehe

i was bored, so i wrote it out for me to put in my songbook.

I just wanted to say .... this has got to be the BEST FRICKIN VIDEO LESSON IN THE WHOLE WORLD WIDE WEB!!!

I'm very new to the uke (as well as this forum) but with this site and these lessons, damn you guys are a godsend. I'm so happy I bought one. It's frickin awesome. Even tho I'm still terrible, I love practicing with these lessons - :D. (I'm having a horrible time getting some of the strumming patterns :().

Also, Kaneohe, your tab really helps too. But, shouldn't it be a D chord at the end of (?) -

Am
Some people live just to play the game

Thanks and keep up the good stuff. <3

Hi everyone,

This is a very good lesson. But my internet is too slow and cannot view it smoothly. I want to download and view it offline.

However, I found this video cannot be downloaded from Viddler. I can download other lesson from Viddler but not this one.

Anyone know how to download the file? Or this file is protected? Can Aldrine help to solve it?

Regards,
Boris

My favorite lesson so far. This one song nobody really plays on uke, and was taught so good, easy to pick up.
