Hello,
Long time uke player, but this is my first post here.
I dabble in wood work, mostly furniture and boxes. I try to hunt down reclaimed wood for my projects and recently I came across some 6 in wide, 3/4 in thick planks of western red cedar. There were several pallets and a dozen+ planks were quarter-sawed with 18+ grains per inch. I made a couple cigar boxes out of some of the random cuts and from that perspective the wood was perfect. What else should I look at to determine if the cedar would make a good soundboard?
Thanks!
Joe
