I'm selling my 8-String Kamaka, complete with Fremont hard case, for 800, which includes shipping to the UK.

Blurb from kamaka's website:

TENOR 8-STRING (HF-38)
The 8-string has all four strings doubled, with the third and fourth pair tuned in octaves. Played with standard ukulele tuning and fingering, the sound is rich and unique. The paired strings are played together like a 12-string guitar.
Also known as "the Liliu VIII," the Tenor 8-String was designed by Sam Kamaka Jr. in 1976 to commemorate the Bicentennial of the United States.
Overall length: 27-3/4"
Scale length: 17"
Total # frets: 18
Frets to the body: 14
MSRP: $1,445

I bought it second-hand from here late 2011, for 800. Including shipping and import fee's it ended up being over 1000. Since then I've bought a Fremont hard-case (worth 85) and fitted strap buttons.

As you can see in the pictures, there's a few dings and scratches. They were on the uke when it arrived, they've certainly not impacted the playability of the instrument whilst I've been playing it. There's also some slight 'dishing', again like it when it arrived. I had my local luthier look at it when he was fitting the strap buttons, he didn't have any problem with it, and it's not changed during my ownership.

It's loud and great fun to play. I'm selling because I've a few debts to pay off, and since buying a Kala 8-string (for the pickup) I've not been playing this, so it's going to have to move on to a home where it will be played.

Just curious - what's the ukulele's date of birth and serial number? (They should be stamped inside the body, at the neck joint.) Thanks!
