After months of dreading my makala baritone's red coloured finish, I finally had enough of it! Since it's my holidays, I've decided to start a new project which involves sanding down the finish of my makala (and maybe my other ukulele too), restaining it and then polishing it to give a nice shine.
The main goal is to make it a nice and shiny natural brown like a Kala mahogany ukulele. Initially, the colour was this:
After I sanded the soundboard's finish off:
After I applied a wood stain that I found in the basement:
For those who dislike their cheap ukulele's finish, you should try it out aswell!
