Wow! You hit the right tones in the right order, I think there's not missing too much. But the rythm really is a big problem.
When I tried strumming at first I also was completely out of time and my mother, who is a guitar teacher, corrected me. This isn't even as easy as it seems. I would try it with a metronome and slower at first.
Apart from that, I'm impressed I also want to be able to play that song. May I ask you since when you're playing and how you learned the strumming?

Definitely get a metronome. They are easy to get on phones and ipads now, so no excuse. Your picking style seems to be spot on! Would not hurt to listen to the original as much as you can as well. While My Guitar Gently Weeps. Another great option is to try and find a karaoke version to play along with.
