Ok, received the thin Peghead veneers to delineate between the mahogany and Indian Rosewood portions of the Peghead. Also picked up some Steve Smith Epoxy.

I am thinking about making a Black, White, Black sandwich with the thin veneers and then gluing between the mahogany and Indian Rosewood. Based on my recent experience with the cracked Peghead, do you recommend gluing up the thin veneer "sandwich" with epoxy first and then letting it dry. AND then gluing the sandwich between the mahogany and IRW. Or should I just do it all in one step?
I appreciate your advice.

Also, has anyone used the Steve Smith epoxy? Ay words of wisdom concerning it?

Thanks,
Mark

You can do that all in one step. I do the separate laminate glue up when I'm doing backstrap overlays; we have sets of hinged press cauls with the curve built in for that.

Smith epoxy is great stuff.

Try the Smith CPES for pre-sealing under finish.
