A nice fellow at The Fifth String in Berkeley was kind enough to eliminate a buzz from one of my cherished ukes.

They work with high end instruments at The Fifth String. This uke of mine is cherished but not high end; my Kanilea is.

Anyway, he kindly pointed out that I had wrongly wound my string so that it went up the post where the string is inserted rather than down as I wound. This slight difference created an angle that caused a buzz.

I had thought that something had warped the neck.

Nice fellow, nice shop. He said a lot of people aren't aware of how winding the wrong direction can cause such a buzz.

I didn't have to pay but I ended up buying a nice case at a good price.
