Last time I posted here, I was challenged by many of you to be more original in my inlay design. I took that challenge to heart and thought I would share some of my recent work. One of the things I did was take a class last summer with Grit Laskin on designing inlays, and this is one of the designs I worked on. The uke is all koa and the inlay materials are recon stone, various shell types, and a touch of bone. Constructive comments are welcome.

Wow. That is gorgeous! Great design, beautifully executed. Nicely conceived.

The rosette works so well to spread the effect of the inlay beyond the fretboard and headstock.
