I'd like to know if the chords are the same for tenor and soprano ukuleles. I have seen chord charts that they they are and some say they aren't. Does it depend on the tuning? Thanks

If you're in C tuning (GCEA) yes. If your soprano is tuned to D (ADF#B), then No.

I have tenor and concert ukes... both tuned GCEA. BUT... the tenor has a dropped G (an octave lower than the re-entrant tuning on the concert size uke). Does it make a difference? Not really. A G is a G no matter what octave it is. And chord shapes remain the same. It makes a difference tho whether I'm playing fingerstyle or strumming... I like the re-entrant (high G) of the concert uke for that plinky-plunk strum sound that suits some songs. Fingerstyle playing on the Tenor with low G is better - its actually the same as a four string guitar with a capo on the 5th fret. So if the tenor has a high or low G - no difference to chords if you strum. Depends what youre doing with the chords - not the tuning.
