Does anyone know what uke is he playing? Is it a custom uke?

Looks very similar to my home made Cigar Box Reso Uke.
except mine is not actually a cigar box,but one of the
same sort of size! And the one in the pic is amplified
of course,which mine isn't.Nor does it need to be!

That looks like a one off hand made instrument to me. Conceptually its a cigar box ukulele although this one looks quite refined.
