I have some questions.
1. Is it true that you shouldn't push the string all the way down, to get the best sound?
2. What are the best strings? So which brand do you think is the best.
3. Is it true that an uke sounds better when it's older?

Thanks.

Hi Alex,

1. No, you don't need to push down all the way for best sound - that will wear your fingers out really fast! Just push down enough to get a clear note.

2. My favorites are Worths. They are more expensive, but you get two sets in one pack and they sound really good (in my opinion).

3. That's what they say! I have not had mine long enough to give you an honest opinion. They also say that once the instrument cracks it sounds better...

You don't have to exert much pressure to get a clear note/sound.

You'll have to try several brands. Everyone here will have a favorite string set be it Worth, Aquila, D'Addario, etc. It's what sound/tone you want to come out. Take into consideration the build of the instrument also.

I think it does.
