Some of you may have read my " it's been a month" post and in there I mentioned the J 65 D'ADDARIO strings. I don't really like them they are not bright sounding enough for me. What other D'ADDARIO strings would be brighter? I'd have to order online for Aquila's but I don't have the money for them I can only get the ones my LMS carries. Any suggestions?

Thanks!!

In the future if you can afford them, Ken Middleton's "Living Water" strings are the brightest strings I have tried so far. They are only available from the UK, and they are around $15.00 but well worth the money.

A bit of a side question, is there a difference between "brightness" and "driving the sound board"? I've heard of Aquilas being the best choice for laminate ukes because they really "drive the sound board". I understand this to mean that they vibrate strongly and that overcomes the dampening inherent in laminates.

To the OP, both Strings by Mail and Uke Republic ship strings to Canada for only $3-4. Some others (Southcoast and Elderly I think) charge $10.

Get them from hawaii music supply. I input your postal code and its $2.85 shipping if you order a single set of strings.

T-2's are about $5.00 dollars for a set....the southcoast $19.00
DiAdarrios...one of the cheaper good quality strings...

if you order from HMS their Alohi's are not expensive either....btw they are T-2's with wound LowG

What's an LMS?

I'm not getting why the Aquilas you desire are such a different cost from a set of DAddarios.
